Retrogrades: What They Mean
Retrogrades refer to the apparent backward motion of a planet in the sky, as observed from Earth. While planets don’t actually move backward, their retrograde motion is an optical illusion caused by differences in the orbital speeds of Earth and the other planets. In astrology, retrogrades are often seen as periods when the energy of the retrograding planet is turned inward, causing disruptions or delays in areas of life ruled by that planet.
